Goin' Baroque

As we are all becoming increasingly aware, the Baroque-era brocade trend is blowing up. If the Dolce & Gabbana pieces below aren't an option, check out these amazing pieces from more affordable brands.

I think the most important part of doing this trend is making sure the pieces are three dimensional, and not just a print (like an old school Versace). A great texture is what sets great items apart from the quickly reproduced-for-the-malls clothes.

Metallics!

Word on the street is that metallics are back on the scene, following a short hiatus. I absolutely love this trend because there are so many beautiful ways to do i..It isn't just boring gold and silver. There is bronze, copper, dull gold, rose gold, gun metal, etc! Make the trend your own. P.S. Another way to conquer this trend for 2012 is to scour vintage shops. All the major designers have done these colors for decades :)

Primeval at the Carmichael Gallery, Los Angeles

I had the absolute pleasure of attending my best friend’s opening at the Carmichael Gallery in Culver City/Los Angeles. The show featured three amazing artists: Emol, Stinkfish, and Zio Ziegler.
